OpenWell has a vision. A vision that has been crafted through pain and pursuit. A vision that has been over 25 years in the making. A vision that answers the question: ‘How do we best love and lead people into their next step to love and live like Jesus’? Over a number of years we have been shaping and preparing a vision that will answer this question and we have been developing a plan that is the blueprint for our way forward. So what exactly is the vision for OpenWell?
OUR VISION
To establish Wells all over the Liverpool region and beyond. Wells that are a source of life in their community. Wells that help people to grow in living and loving like Jesus. Each OpenWell community will be simple, sustainable and a safe place where people are known, valued, thrive and find family. Every OpenWell community will be supported by a base and our website.
OPENWELL BASE
The Base will be a building and a resource centre for providing weekly Sunday morning DEEPER preaching and teaching and DEEPER worship. This weekly deeper worship and teaching will be modelled on our annual JesusLoves conference. These weekly services of equipping and refreshing will be open to anyone and also filmed to put on our website, Spotify and Youtube. Each Sunday morning will be supported by weekly Sunday morning crèche and a full kids work. Our base will also be a place for courses, events, VIP, JesusLoves and training. The base will be a place for OpenWell communities to gather, grow and serve together. Our website is a growing resource where people can connect and find content and community.
A LOCAL OPENWELL
A local OpenWell is a church community that happens around food and hospitality, worship, a short video or live talk based on the Bible, chat, prayer and communion.
An OpenWell will be a place where you can belong and will be church, home and community for people. Each OpenWell is a local, simple, and easy to run community. It WILL MEET WEEKLY and can run at any time, on any day and in any venue and lasts for around one hour. It can be in a community centre, church building, cafe or home. Some OpenWells will be online and many will have kids work, creche and other facilities.
WHY
Our goal is to help people take their next step to live and love like Jesus. We believe that the best place to grow to love and live like Jesus is in the context of community, where you are known and you can know others. Each OpenWell will be a safe place to explore Jesus and experience God’s love and his presence.
In the next few years, we will be working hard to make our vision a reality. Right now we don’t have all the resources and people that we need. What we do have is a person. His name is Jesus and our hope is and trust is in him.
Our plan is to trust in Jesus and step boldly forward into the vision God has for OpenWell. We believe that provision will come as we step INTO the plan. As we step forward into the problems and as we embrace the pain of growth, we will receive all the help we need. God isn’t looking for perfect people. He is looking for available people. People that will lay down their lives to live a life of loving and leading people to Jesus.
Our plan is to go. Our plan is to trust Jesus and go into the darkness. To go into council estates. To go into broken homes. To go into schools and businesses. To go into the lives of the lonely, anxious, addicted and the forgotten. Our plan is to let the love of Jesus love flow through our lives and lift up the name of Jesus. Our plan is to lead thousands and thousands of people to Jesus and into our OpenWell community. Our plan is to love and lead people to Jesus, day after day and week after week. Our plan is to faithfully keep going into new places and spaces.
Whether you are a school teacher, a business owner, a street evangelistic or a stay at home mum, you are called to go. Our plan is to equip, serve, encourage and cheer you on, so that you can learn to take your next step in loving and leading people to Jesus. Through your words and through your actions.
CONNECT

You can belong to a local weekly Openwell community (in person or online) and/or you can choose to attend the HUB for the Sunday word and worship as much or as little as you like. You can also access the content from the hub on our website, Youtube and Spotify as a podcast.
