YOU CHASED DOWN MY HEART
I don’t know if His unrelenting love has caught you yet? It is the most beautiful thing to happen, for your heart to be pursued and chased down by a love, desire and passion that can’t be measured. Until all of those walls we have used to shore ourselves up collapse into His everlasting arms of grace, mercy, truth and unfailing love, where we find we are completely accepted. Sixteen years ago that happened to me. Before that, when people said they loved me I knew that they meant it but I couldn’t receive it because I knew they could only see the shop front. I knew they loved what they saw but … If they really knew me. If they really knew what lay behind. If they really knew the ugly, inadequate, insignificant, struggling, anxious, guilty wreck that lay behind the shop front …
My fear was that they would find out and walk away. So I was at great pains to keep it hidden. But as you can’t hide it from God, I just kept my distance. I believed that there were parts of me that were truly unlovable.
EVERY PRECIOUS ONE
His word and this song tell us he calls us precious, MY PRECIOUS – it’s personal. In fact, so precious, a great price was paid. The loss of a Son - an unimaginable pain. Yet here is a Father who deemed us so precious, He was prepared to pay the ultimate price. A Father who would surrender His only Son – for me - even in my ugly!
CHASED DOWN MY FAILURES AND PRIDE
He really did chase down my failures and pride. Where I was expecting to be measured and get what was coming to me, He met me with grace and mercy and He kissed me and He kissed me and He kissed me and kissed me. And every time I began to tell Him what a failure I was…He kissed me. And when I tried to explain how hard I had tried… He kissed me. And when I ran and turned my back because I didn’t need Him, didn’t want Him and I could do it all on my own…He kissed me. And when I couldn’t bear to be touched because I needed to keep control…He called me by my name and nobody has ever spoken my name like He said my name. And He met me. And in His love, I SURRENDERED. I held my arms high and said, “YES”. Who knew surrender could be so sweet.
WHERE YOU LOST YOUR LIFE SO I COULD FIND IT HERE.
And on the cross, we see a Son so in love with His Father that He would want Him to have His dream of having ALL His children home and safe in His embrace that He would willingly give up His life.
A Son so passionately in love with us that He would willingly sacrifice His life for us to be able to come home.
With arms raised high and in complete surrender Jesus gave His life, paid the price for salvation.
LIKE YOU WOULD AGAIN A HUNDRED BILLION TIMES
In fact, He gave it so willingly He would do it all again, a hundred billion times. I learned that Jesus on the cross is not a history lesson! The power of the cross is alive today and every day.
GOD OF SALVATION
We have a God of salvation. I don’t know where you are today. I don’t know where your heart is or what it looks like but I want you to know…You are not lost, you are very found. You are not far away from Him because He has never left you. I want you to know that regardless of how you feel about yourself…He loves you. He desires you. He longs for you. And He is chasing you down with His love. Don’t you want a kiss that changes everything?
ON THE HILL HE CREATED
Whether you have been to the cross a hundred times or today is your first time, will you come with me? Let me take your hand and bring you to the hill He created, to the foot of the cross. Come and meet a man who knew everything about me and loved me just the same.

Will you come? Will you linger there today?
IF YOU GLADLY CHOSE SURRENDER SO WILL I
Will you surrender there today? Will you allow Him to speak to you there today? Will you gladly choose to surrender to His love? Will you gladly choose to surrender to His kiss? Will you gladly surrender everything you ever thought about who He is or who you are and surrender to His voice? He will meet you. He will speak to you.
And His love really does change everything.
